SketchUp for exhibits

SketchUp is one of my favorite 3D modeling programs to use for designing or prototyping an exhibition space. These are some examples of projects in which I have used SketchUp to visualize my end goal and pitch it to stakeholders and fabricators.

I used SketchUp to model the layout and placement of objects in the  basketry exhibit  I curated. The entire gallery was undergoing a remodel, so the 3D layout helped us to visualize the new space. All of the measurements in this layout, including of the objects, had to be precise so the fabrication and install could run smoothly.

In another project I used SketchUp  to model the design of a proposed exhibit about  citizen science . This exhibit design was a collaborative effort, with my 3D visualization being used in the proposal presentation to the museum staff.

This final project is one in which I used SketchUp to create a visual representation of a  museum  my team designed from the ground up. As part of a Museum Studies course we were tasked with designing every aspect of a functioning museum from location to school programs. I took on the task of the layout and design of the physical space and exhibitions.
